Potomac Crossing, and some Fun at Camp
With our three day weekend, we took part in the a crossing of the Potomac River at Whites Ford. Historically,
The water got waist deep, but not more. The entrance into the river on the Maryland side was downright muddy as we were entering near Mason Island where there was very little current. Most of the way across was rocky bottom with grass. Henry indicated that he traditionally picks up a rock from the Virginia side and brings it back--he really outdid himself this year! Maybe because Lorene couldn't participate in the walk this year. A few pics from the trek:
We then went up to Camp Stillwater and enjoyed more time with nature and family. See the turtles, turkeys, does and bucks here, where we also enjoyed creative campfire play:
