Stallions Tournament

Wow. 7 Games in three days: 5 Teams in the 14U Pool. Pool play left us 3-1 defeating the host Stallions, the MD Stealth (or Storm), and Team Flava, and losing to Team AZ. Team AZ is from Arizona, and brought a 14U and 15U team to the tournament. The 14U team was very good, and VERY big. I can't imagine they were all 14.

The courts were attached to a church. You had to be there. The facility housed two courts with temporary roll-up baskets (not hanging baskets). I think the courts may have been a little narrow, but that was necessary to fit them between the structural columns. Because the baskets were "roll up", the baskets were set a little far back, so foul shots were unusually long, and there was precious little room behind the basket--many rebounds were grabbed with a foot on the line.

Flora and Fauna

Hi, everyone- this is corinne. Dad just went upstairs and left me with writing an entry about these slides... that aren't very interesting.

Among the flora and fauna is a picture of the Drama Senior party where we all ate pizza, sang and then saw Shrek 3. In case you're wondering, top row(starting left): Brendan, Brandon and Melanie. bottom row(also starting left: Monica, Me, Theresa and Dad. There is also one of me and Doug eating pretzels after practice. Followed by more pictures of flowers.

And, a personal note from me, Thursday was my absolute last day of highschool EVER!!!

Lonely and Dejected Office Assistant

Even though I've been using Microsoft Office 2000 for years, an interesting set of events seems to have happened today. I guess I must have opened a document, and after the office assistant (I use Einstein) walked in, I closed him down. He's not really very helpful anyway--hasn't been for years. Well, I must have repeated this a few times with various docs, spreadsheets, and/or presentations--I didn't really keep track. Apparently, the assistant will only take it so long. I got the following message:

Can you feel the pain in this plea? Do you want to get rid of me forever, or do you just want me to go away, hoping that maybe you'll need me next time? I felt like if I pushed the button to permanently turn the assistant off that another balloon would pop up and the assistant would be on its knees and sobbing "Please take me back! I can be useful! I can show you things! PLEASE!!!" Or maybe the assistant would get furious. "You think you can handle these spreadsheets without me? What are you going to do when you can't figure out how to combine data from different worksheets onto a single chart that is automatically updated with live data? You want to go it alone? YOU WANT TO GO IT ALONE? YOU CAN'T HANDLE IT ALONE!!! YOU NEED ME!!!

I turned it off. I'm heartless.

Basketball continues, finally

It's been a while since the last post. Turns out the last two tournaments got canceled. I wasn't heartbroken about missing the one in PG county, but last weekend was supposed to be Ocean City. It seems like forever since the last time we've been in a real game.

This weekend tournament is in Pennsylvania, a four team tourney that consists of 3 pool play games followed by a championship game. I missed Saturdays games, but we won both by about 30 pts each. It turns out that Sunday's opponent did the same, so we'll play this last team in the morning, and win or lose will face them again in the championship game.

UPDATE: Officials decided to only play one game, so we got cheated out of a game. The game itself we lost by 3. Ug.
